Promised Land – Part 2

Hello friends! How is life treatin you in the States? Hopefully you are doing well and enjoying that heat wave I understand you are having over there. Did I mention that it is 5:30 in the afternoon and currently 88 degrees? Because it is… (:
Anyways.
Yesterday was absolutely incredible. We went to Old Jerusalem and the Wailing Wall, which are only about a 5 minute walk from our hotel. Can you believe that? Take a step in any direction and you can’t help but run into a couple thousands of years worth of history. It’s mind boggling.

Visiting the Wall was almost an out of body experience for me. It was the first time in my life I have ever been left completely speechless. Breathless, almost. God has been revealing so many overwhelmingly beautiful and indescribably good things to me lately. I am so so sincerely blessed.

After the Mount of Olives we went to the Garden and Church at Gethsemane. It is SO surreal to be walking in the places I have read about for my whole life. They’re no longer just mental illustrations borrowed from my Sunday school curriculum, but a living part of my world. SO CRAZY!

Then we went to Hezekiah’s Tunnel, an underground tunnel that was chiseled out thousands of years ago underneath the City of David. The cold water that we waded through for 45 minutes was refreshing and so so fun!
We later walked around the Jewish Quarter of Old Jerusalem and grabbed some falafel for lunch! Yummmm.
Well, it is now time for me to clean up (and YES, I do smell like Israel…) and get dressed for the evening.

I hope you all are having a lovely day!
